The area for children's center being designed is located in the north-west of Moscow and is part of a residential complex L69 on the banks of the Khimki Reservoir. On the west side the area is directly adjacent to residential blocks of the complex, to the east - to the junction of the Leningrad highway. The building of the center is actually the first thing when entering Moscow from Sheremetyevo Airport or Khimki, and such a responsible place required a significant, even iconic architecture. Besides the key role in its formation was to make the roof because it was the very thing the observer would see passing over the building by the bridge. At the same time, the restrictions in the form of buffer zones on the one hand, and an underground parking under the place on the other identified very specific configuration of the construction site, obviously insufficient in area for the task.
To make full use of the potential of the place, the architects found a clever solution, making up the image of "the cloud, suspended from the sky." All relief giving a building its precious additional internal volume opens with just the top of the review. At first, they slightly rounded the corners of projected volume, then flattened its sides, stressing at the same time functional division of the building blocks of kindergarten and school. And then, to reproduce the form of cloud in three dimensions, architects chose an atypical way - the language of the popular among children computer game MineCraft. In its world absolutely everything, including men is being built from colored blocks, like a LEGO details.
Their art is to combine units of different sizes architects also demonstrated planning the internal space. In the limited area they skillfully placed the greatest possible number of areas and functions.
