ATRIUM Virtual Gallery received Special Mention from the recognized Architizer A+ Awards 2023 in the Architecture + Metaverse category.
The architectural studio ATRIUM has launched its own space in the virtual reality - ATRIUM Virtual Gallery. The purpose of the project was to create a space that would bring together the latest results of the bureau's work, as well as forming a platform for communication and work for employees and clients from around the world.
The pandemic has accelerated the spread of the online, so the demand for designing virtual spaces has increased accordingly. In addition, interest from developers, game design studios, and IT companies in the metaverse has grown in recent years. ATRIUM Virtual Gallery was created in response to these trends. The mission of the project is to go beyond the limits of traditional architecture and formulate the quality of the virtual environment, based on the author's unique vision. Great experience in designing physical spaces and approach to each project as an artistic statement allows the bureau to make its own contribution to the development of this area.
The project is implemented together with the company Dearch Space on the platform W3rlds. The platform allows to create an accessible and functional virtual environment for any user. ATRIUM's approach and values are expressed in the design of the architectural appearance, materials and content of the gallery: the space has become not only a working tool, but also an iconic art project. It embodies a complex architectural form in the format of a single curvilinear space where there are no clear boundaries between the floor, walls and ceiling. The interaction with the virtual space creates an emotional experience as well as introduces the visitor to ATRIUM's unique approach to design.
The gallery consists of projects in each of the studio's areas of work: Architecture, Design, Digital and Education. In each area one can see images, videos and 3D models of the architectural projects. Furniture models designed by the studio can be opened in augmented reality using a smartphone. Other projects have also been collected on the platform, such as a virtual sales office for the studio-designed apartments in Dubai. The ATRIUM Virtual Gallery space is regularly updated with new projects. The gallery has already become a venue for the bureau's corporate events, and is now open to networking users from different parts of the world.
