The National Centre RUSSIA
The new National center RUSSIA will be located within Moscow's International Business Center (Moscow-City), occupying a 14.1 Ha site previously place to the Expocentre exhibition complex at the Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment. Designed as an integrated architectural complex, the Center will feature a covered event space with an amphitheater, combining 60,000 square meters of exhibition facilities, a 3,500-seat concert hall, a media center, and a youth innovation cluster. The project aims to create a multifunctional venue for business, cultural and creative events. Its centerpiece is a covered event plaza with an amphitheater – hosting public gatherings in summer and transforming into an ice rink in winter – destined to become both a civic hub and a new architectural emblem for Moscow and Russia.

The project’s bionic architecture reflects Russia’s diverse visual identity. Its organic forms evoke natural landscapes, with a silhouette suggesting a soaring "Pokrov" or endless snowfields. Deliberately contrasting with Moscow City’s verticality, the building’s horizontal lines emphasize fluidity and motion. Lightweight, dynamic, and transparent, space creates an ethereal presence – architecture that seems to float rather than impose.
The Center will be complemented by a landscaped park with tree-lined alleys, water features, and fountains – addressing Moscow-City’s need for vibrant public recreation spaces. The greenery harmonizes urban and natural environments.
Abstract contemporary ornamentation on walls and ceilings nods to traditional lacework, a universal symbol of warmth, while the white color palette enhances the space’s purity and ceremonial grandeur. The Center’s adaptive media facade will display national symbols during holidays and artistic installations during cultural events. Its covered plaza, offering amphitheater seating with views of the Moskva River and open-air stage events, will rank among Moscow’s most impressive public spaces.
Beyond consolidating functions, the design prioritizes civic engagement. A sequence of spaces unfolds from the Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment and Moscow City approaches, through an entrance plaza, into the building’s soaring atrium.
Scheduled for completion in 2029, ATRIUM’s National center RUSSIA embodies forward-looking architecture through its futuristic form, cutting-edge technology, multifunctionality, and deep urban integration – poised to become a symbol of modern Russia.
