architecture as art
Since the early 2000s, ATRIUM Architectural Studio has been one of the global studios actively using and developing a new philosophy of form, moving beyond traditional and stereotypical elements such as the floor, wall, window and roof.
The universal spatial structures developed by ATRIUM can, in theory, expand infinitely, generating objects and patterns of any scale in the process.

Garage for a Car Collection
The gallery-garage in Serebryany Bor develops key architectural principles from ATRIUM’s early projects through contemporary technologies and materials. The non-linear form of the gallery, reminiscent of a Möbius strip, creates a sculptural and dynamic volume. The white, curving geometric plane does not compete with the aesthetics of the cars, but complements and supports it.
Private Residential House in Gorky-6
Set in a unique location on a pine-covered hill, with panoramic views in three directions, this project by ATRIUM comprises several buildings and a landscaped park with cascading streams and a pond.
The project’s formal strategy is based on folding: an abstract zigzagging plane simultaneously forms the roof, walls and floor slabs. The spaces between the folds are filled with glazing and solid volumes finished in timber and laminated facade panels. As the plane bends, it creates deep cantilevers that accommodate terraces, while the roof overhang provides weather protection and opens the building towards the sun and the main views.
Private Residential House in Sosny Village
One of the main tasks in designing the private house in Sosny Village was to preserve as much of the site’s undeveloped natural landscape as possible. A slight level difference of around two metres made it possible to completely reshape the terrain near the road and organise the building and site across several levels, integrating the roof of the underground floor into the landscape. This visually expanded the site and created a natural zoning of the territory.
The geometry of the building and the cut-outs in its form create multiple terraces and balconies.
Exhibition Centre in Krasnodar
In the Krasnodar-Expo Exhibition Centre, form works as an architectural manifestation of Krasnodar’s new business district. Instead of a neutral exhibition hangar, ATRIUM creates an expressive multifunctional entrance block — the “face” of the complex, bringing together the visitor service centre, conference area, café, restaurant, VIP spaces and administrative premises.
The building’s asymmetrical geometry follows the logic of movement across the site and turns towards the flow of visitors. Broken graphic lines, a contrasting black-and-white palette and transparent facades create a dynamic contemporary image, where energy is combined with openness. Inside, this logic continues through a free plan and spaces of different heights, while the large external staircase becomes not only a route to the exhibition pavilions, but also a stage, a stand and an element of the complex’s public life.
